About me

Hi, I’m Luca, and I’m the founder of Getfitsafely.com.

I started this project in August 2022, because I strongly believe in the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and I want to share my fitness knowledge for over 20 years with you.

Even though I am Italian, I have chosen to write in English to reach a wider audience.

The fitness world is global, and I want to share my knowledge with people all over the world.

Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or looking to take it to the next level, you’ll find invaluable advice in this blog.

  • Gym workouts for beginners.
  • Bodyweight exercise routine at home
  • Nutritional tips
  • How to choose the right personal trainer and other…

Whatever the reason you are here, don’t put it off until tomorrow, act today!

I believe that even the smallest changes if made deliberately, can lead to big results.

Whether you want to lose weight, gain strength, or just feel better about yourself, Get Fit Safely, will provide you with useful tips.

In all these years I have understood that to never give up, you always have to make changes to your training because if you always do the same exercises that give you neither stimulation nor satisfaction, you will soon get bored.

The same goes for food, you can’t eat natural eggs and tuna every day!!

I have been going to 2 gyms for many years (one near my home and one near my workplace), and I have often helped younger guys than me who wanted to build strength and muscle mass.

Two of these guys became personal trainers and we are still friends and train together.

My goal is to provide a comprehensive resource for people looking to improve their fitness and health.

This is my first time writing a blog, and it has been a wonderful experience.

I’m not a fitness guru like many out there, but here you will find real experience backed by extensive personal research and study.

My Journey With Exercise

I picked up my first dumbbell at the age of 15 and was immediately captured by that wonderful feeling of accomplishment that comes from a good workout.

I tried various forms of exercise like gymnastics, weight lifting, calisthenics, running, and jumping rope.

In my early years, I was able to achieve amazing results and was often complimented on my physique.

However, after I turned 30, I fell into a period of reluctance and stopped exercising and eating healthy.

I indulged in unhealthy habits and gained weight.

But that was the turning point for me and I decided to take action and start training again.

Jumping rope: The secret to my weight loss

I did a lot of research and experimented with various training methods and found that jumping rope was particularly effective on me and made me lose 15 pounds in just a few weeks.

(In between workouts, I incorporated small sessions of jumping rope)

Jumping rope is often underestimated in fitness, but it has many benefits such as increased physical endurance, improved cardio-respiratory health, increased speed and agility, improved coordination, and even improved cognitive functions.

It’s also an effective way to burn calories, making it an ideal exercise for those looking to lose weight.

However, even though the jumping rope is incredibly effective, incorporating bodyweight training, resistance training, and proper nutrition into my fitness routine has been essential in achieving my weight loss and overall fitness goals.

Bodyweight Training

Bodyweight training is a form of exercise that uses your body weight as resistance.

This type of training is not only convenient, but it can also be highly effective for building strength, burning fat, and improving overall fitness.

Bodyweight exercises such as push-ups, squats, and pull-ups are great examples of exercises that use your body weight as resistance.

One of the great things about bodyweight training is that it can be done anywhere, at any time.

You don’t need to go to the gym or have access to expensive equipment.

You can do bodyweight exercises at home, in a park, or even at the office.

This makes it a great option for those who have busy schedules or limited access to a gym.

Resistance Training

In addition to bodyweight training, I also recommend resistance training.

Resistance training is a type of exercise that uses external weights or resistance bands to add resistance to your movements.

This type of training is great for building muscle and strength.

Examples of resistance training exercises include weightlifting, resistance band exercises, and bodyweight exercises with added weight.

It is important to note that resistance training should be done in conjunction with proper nutrition, especially if your goal is to build muscle.

Resistance training on its own will not build muscle without proper nutrition.

Nutrition

Proper nutrition is crucial for achieving your fitness goals.

Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, or improve overall fitness, you need to fuel your body with the right nutrients.

Eating a balanced diet that includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains is essential for optimal health and fitness.

I will be discussing nutrition in more detail on my website, including information on macronutrients, micronutrients, and how to create a balanced diet that is tailored to your specific goals.
